Membership

The prime requirement is the understanding and compliance with safe firearm handling practices. All members are required to review the Club Membership Manual, pass an open book exam and participate in a range "walk-through" with the Club's Range Safety Officer before a membership card may be issued.

All members must meet federal and state firearms regulations including possessing a current valid Illinois Firearm Owners Identification Card. All Club members must be members of the National Rifle Association and keep their membership up to date.

All members must perform 16-hours of work annually in support of the Club. This may be accomplished in many different ways, such as assisting in running an event, being an elected officer, doing maintenance work on the facility, etc.

Physically challenged members will be permitted to fulfill this responsibility in accordance with their ability.

Those interested in membership in the Howell Shooting Club, Inc. are invited to visit a membership meeting and a shooting activity. Open membership meetings are conducted in the range trailer the 1st Sunday of each month at 9:00 a.m.

Potential members are encouraged to visit and observe any of our shooting activities. Those new to the activity may be invited to participate with proper instruction.
